It aims to develop into a world class global institution that will provide cutting edge research on policy issues relating to macroeconomics, banking and finance. The Institute seeks a Director who shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute. He/she will exercise general supervision and control over the affairs of the Institute, play a leadership role in the cutting-edge research activities of the Institute and implement the decisions of the Institute’s Governing Council. The key requirements for the position are exceptional research leadership and institution building skills, the drive to further the Institute’s mandate and the ability to enthuse, inspire and motivate highest quality academic research and critical thinking in the Faculty, Research staff and Trainees. A seasoned and accomplished academic-administrator and Researcher will be the ideal candidate. The Director will be supported by Additional Director (Learning and Admin), Additional Director (Research), and a team of research staff and research assistants. Pay and Allowances of the Director shall be in line with the best in the industry depending on the profile of the applicant. The Director’s term would be five years with mid-term review of performance and feedback and may be extended, if necessary. The maximum age of the candidate shall not be more than 70 years at the time of appointment, extendable up to 75 years in case of extension of the term. The applicant should have a PhD ideally from a renowned institution and should have quality Research work in an institution of repute. The applicant should have demonstrated a good record of published work in areas of Macroeconomics / Banking & Finance in high quality refereed academic journals and books.
